Global Rallycross Lites Driver Alejandro Fernandez Steps in to Race The #82 Fast & Speed USA Sprinter Buggy

fxa • Jun 15, 2018

A well-known karter and rallycross driver, Alejandro Fernandez teams up with Kevin Madsen for the remainder of the Formula X season to campaign the Urban-Rebel Racing Sprinter Buggy

Perris, CA, June 15, 2018 – Mostly known for his smooth driving in various North American karting series as well as his sideways, dirt slinging style in GRC lites, experienced driver Alejandro “Alejo” Fernandez joins the racing fun at Perris Auto Speedway this weekend in the crosskarts and sprinter buggies.

When asked about the upcoming weekend, Fernandez remarked, “I’m really excited to be able to participate in this event, Kevin and I have talked about it for a while, but things haven’t been able to line up until now. I’ve heard that these cars are a lot of fun and a challenge to drive as well. I’m looking forward to give my best effort and help Kevin solidify his championship run!”

Alejandro will be coming in cold in that he has had no prior practice in these vehicles. His teammate Kevin Madsen commented, “Even though Alejo hasn’t had a chance to test in the Fast & Speed fleet of race vehicles, he will adapt very quickly with his skillset. He’s a champion behind the wheel and in front of the crowd. That’s what you need in Perris and for those reasons I knew he’d be the perfect teammate while I’m away. He’ll represent our partners including Urban-Rebel racing very well.”

Fernandez comes with a wealth of driving prowess including F2000, Mazda Pro, Rallycars, Trophy Trucks and Sportscars. The young Columbian born driver should prove a strong potential threat in his first series of races even with it being a fresh start in these machines. Recent celebrities including Matt Farah, from The Smoking Tire, showed just how easy it is to adapt to these vehicles. While Alejandro is lined up to drive the Sprinter Buggy against a fleet of more quick and nimble crosskarts, it will no doubt, be exciting to see if he is able to challenge for the podium or even the win.
