Kevin Madsen Confirmed as Driver For Full 2018 Season With Fast & Speed USA
Professional road racing driver & coach, Kevin Madsen, will take to the wheel for a full season with crosskarts & sprinter buggies during the inaugural 2018 FX Autocross season.
Newport Beach, CA, February 12, 2018 – With the recent announcement of 7 season races confirmed at Perris Auto Speedway and more races to be added at both new and existing tracks in the western United States, professional driver Kevin Madsen becomes one of the first drivers to confirm his entry to a full season in the new series. Madsen’s competition background consists primarily in road racing with him netting 7 overall championships, including a national championship, before turning almost entirely to a focus on driver coaching. This year will showcase his first year back to a full season of competition and in a very different category.
“We are very excited to have Kevin join us all season for a very exciting first year. He has proven very fast with little time in these vehicles, even faster than some GRC supercar drivers. It will be great to see the action this year as he and more road racers, stunt drivers and overall car geeks like him, come get dirty with us.” – stated Igor Palagin, US manufacturer and owner of the crosskarts & sprinter buggies.

The new FX Autocross series will take place at a mix of oval tracks turned into dirt road courses as well as a new track and other mixed asphalt and dirt courses. Perris Auto Speedway will host a total of 7 races and crowds last year ranged from 4000-8000 depending on the night. Kevin Madsen commented, “It’s been great to go full steam into this new form of racing and it’s even better with the support you get in front of these big crowds. I’m excited for the unique team dynamic that the FX Autocross series will have this year so I can invite some good friends of mine, including drivers from various disciplines, to work for a championship together.”
With developments about tracks, additional car builds and series drivers happening quickly, it is an especially exciting time for the new series based on European Autocross, similar to US rallycross. Series president Robert Myers stated, “Kevin’s support as a brand ambassador has been top notch and we are not surprised to see his enthusiasm to come duke it out in the dirt with everyone. This is one of many explosive announcements to come for this year.”
Formula X Autocross brings the exciting concept of European Autocross to North America. The new series of action-packed events is similar to rallycross but with several classes of off road race cars competing on the same track with loads of excitement and at a much lower cost of entry. The chassis are also used by the Race of Champions and are designed by championship rally racer Johnny Hakvoort from Fast & Speed and built exclusively by Fast & Speed USA.
